PTTEP Malaysia marked World Environment Day with a powerful display of environmental stewardship through its “Nourish Nature, Nurture Future 2024” program in Bintulu, Sarawak. The initiative saw the company plant a total of 500 trees across two phases—200 in April at Taman Tumbina and another 300 in June in Kidurong. These efforts were accompanied by the launch of a comprehensive e-waste recycling campaign aimed at raising awareness and educating local residents on proper electronic waste management. The program reflects PTTEP’s dual commitment to carbon reduction and pollution prevention, demonstrating that environmental care and corporate growth can go hand in hand.

Beyond its environmental benefits, the program fosters stronger engagement between PTTEP Malaysia and the Bintulu community. Community leaders, government agencies, and university partners joined the events—underscoring the initiative’s collaborative approach. Cooling carbon footprints through tree planting goes beyond ecological impact; it also strengthens relationships and nurtures ownership within local ecosystems.

E-waste recycling, an increasingly critical environmental issue, took center stage in the second phase. PTTEP’s campaign focused on practical solutions and community education, from establishing collection points to teaching safe disposal methods. By addressing both natural and human-made environmental challenges, the program stands as a comprehensive model of modern corporate social responsibility.

Current global consciousness around circular economy and sustainable resource use underscores the relevance of such programs. PTTEP Malaysia’s efforts contribute to wider national objectives—aligning with initiatives like the National Energy Transition Roadmap and low-carbon city planning—while positioning the company as an environmental role model for industry peers and partners.
